  • Dave Hansen

    Dave Hansen

    Dave Hansen is the Executive Director of Authors Alliance, where he works to support authors on information law and policy issues, with a particular focus on how to help maximize the reach and impact of their work to benefit the public. Prior to joining the Authors Alliance, Dave was an Associate University Librarian and Lead for Copyright & Information Policy at Duke University Libraries, where he was responsible for core research and collections support for faculty and students. He has extensive experience teaching and advising researchers, publishers, and librarians on copyright, fair use, and authors rights. He has also held academic positions at UNC Chapel Hill School of Law and UC Berkeley School of Law. Dave holds a JD and MSLS from UNC Chapel Hill and is a copyright attorney licensed to practice in North Carolina.

  • Marshall Breeding

    Marshall Breeding

    Marshall Breeding is an internationally acclaimed speaker, and author. He is the creator and editor of Library Technology Guides and the libraries.org online directory of libraries on the Web. His monthly column Systems Librarian appears in Computers in Libraries; he is the Editor for Library Technology Newsletter, published through Library Technology Guides. From 2002 through 2021 he was the editor and contributor for Smart Libraries Newsletter published by the American Library Association, and has authored the annual Library Systems Report published in American Libraries since 2014 and in Library Journal from 2002-2013. He has authored fourteen issues of ALA's Library Technology Reports, and has written many other articles and book chapters. Marshall has edited or authored eight books, including Cloud Computing for Libraries published by in 2012 by Neal-Schuman, now part of ALA TechSource . He regularly teaches workshops and gives presentations at library conferences on a wide range of topics.

    Samuel A. Graham III

    Mr. Samuel Graham is the College Administrative Officer. He is currently responsible for all administrative functions supporting the library: Facilities/Logistics, Finance, & Technology. He believes strongly in doing what is right and making a positive impact. Experienced in Organizational Management, Operational Strategy, Finance and Technology; Samuel has over 15 years of experience in leading high impact teams with organizations such as Home Depot & Walmart Technology. Samuel holds a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Management Information Systems from Langston University and also a Masters of Business Administration from Webster University.

  • Dr. Kartik Goyal

    Dr. Kartik Goyal

    Dr. Kartik Goyal is an Assistant Professor in the School of Interactive Computing at Georgia Tech starting Fall 2023. His research interests are in natural language processing and machine learning problems that involve developing probabilistic models of latent structure in naturally occurring data with capabilities of interpretability and control. His recent work has focused on problems in digital humanities like computationally understanding the early modern English print culture.

    Dr. Claire Bayas

    Dr. Claire Baytas is an analyst on the Libraries, Scholarly Communication, and Museums team at at Ithaka S+R. Before joining Ithaka S+R, Claire completed a PhD in comparative literature at the University of Illinois, where she taught undergraduate courses and conducted research in literary and film criticism, cultural memory studies, and digital humanities.

    Corey Halaychik

    Corey Halaychik currently serves as Head of Content Management at the University of Texas at Austin Libraries.Dedicated to pushing the boundaries of his field, Corey's work and research center around enhancing efficiency, fostering teamwork, and honing leadership skills. His passion lies in the continual improvement of library services and operations, paving the way for a more effective and dynamic learning environment. He is the co-winner of the 2018 ACRL ULS Outstanding Professional Development Award and the 2017 ProQuest Coutts Award for Innovation. He is also the founder of The Library Collective, whose goal is to redefine the professional development landscape for library workers.

  • Dr. Jason Borenstein

    Dr. Jason Borenstein

    Dr. Jason Borenstein, is the Director of Graduate Research Ethics Programs. He is currently Program Director for Ethical and Responsible Research (ER2) at the National Science Foundation. He previously served as Georgia Tech's interim Research Integrity Officer (RIO). Dr. Borenstein is a member of the IEEE SSIT Technical Committee on Ethics/Human Values.

    Ingrid Reiche

    Ingrid Reiche is the Digital Metadata Librarian with Libraries and Cultural Resources at the University of Calgary. Ingrid works largely with metadata management for Digital Collections, and repositories and is hopeful that AI can supplement human metadata creation to help describe the growing digital content in academic libraries. Ingrid enjoys living in Calgary and spending time in the outdoors.

  • Dr. Mark Riedl

    Dr. Mark Riedl

    Dr. Mark Riedl is a professor in the Georgia Tech School of Interactive Computing and associate director of the Georgia Tech Machine Learning Center. Dr. Riedl’s research focuses on human-centered artificial intelligence—the development of artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies that understand and interact with human users in more natural ways. Dr. Riedl’s recent work has focused on story understanding and generation, computational creativity, explainable AI, and teaching virtual agents to behave safely.

  • Dr. Eric Sembrat

    Dr. Eric Sembrat

    Dr. Eric Sembrat leads software development at Georgia Tech's Center for 21st Century Universities. His team is charged with the strategy, design, and development of educational technology software innovations. Their work partners with internal and external collaborators, such as the Digital Credentials Consortium. Eric co-leads Georgia Tech's Educational Technology Steering Committee. Eric is a board member for HighEdWeb and WPCampus.

    Iona Minshew

    Iona Minshew is Head of Resource Management at the University of Texas at Austin where she manages operations related to the acquisition, description, and maintenance of continuing and electronic resources. She is passionate about creating strong and equitable partnerships between content creators, publishers, vendors, and libraries.

  • Dr. Dylan Ruediger

    Dr. Dylan Ruediger

    Dr. Dylan Ruediger is program manager for the research enterprise at Ithaka S+R, where he leads projects designed to help universities, funders, lawmakers, and scholars develop evidence-based responses to the technological, cultural, and political changes that shape the production and circulation of scholarly knowledge. Prior to joining Ithaka S+R, Dylan coordinated a national initiative to better align doctoral education with changing professional opportunities within and beyond the academy at the American Historical Association.

  • Dr. David Joyner

    Dr. David Joyner

    Dr. David Joyner is Executive Director of Online Education & OMSCS in Georgia Tech's College of Computing. His research focuses on online education and learning at scale, especially as they intersect with for-credit offerings at the graduate and undergraduate levels. His emphasis is on designing learning experiences that leverage the opportunities of online learning to compensate for the loss of synchronous collocated class time. This includes leveraging artificial intelligence for student support and assignment evaluation, facilitating student communities in large online classes, and investigating strategies for maintainable and interactive presentation of online instructional material. He is also Chair of the Steering Committee for the ACM Learning @ Scale conference, as well as the General Chair for the 2019, 2020, and 2024 conferences.

    Joyner has received several awards for his work in teaching online, including the 2023 Georgia Tech Outstanding Professional Education Award, the 2022 College of Computing Outstanding Faculty Leadership Award, the 2019 USG Regents' Teaching Excellence Award for Online Teaching, the 2018 Georgia Tech Center for Teaching & Learning Curriculum Innovation Award, and the 2016 Georgia Tech College of Computing Lockheed Excellence in Teaching Award. He was also named to the Georgia Tech Alumni Association's 40 Under 40 in 2022.

  • Professor Sever Bordeianu

    Professor Sever Bordeianu

    Professor Sever Bordeianu has a Master’s in Library and Information Science from the University of Texas at Austin, and an MA in Philosophy and German Literature from the University of Mississippi. He has worked in Reference and Cataloging at the University of Michigan (1985-87), UC Irvine (1987-89), and UNM 1989 to present. He is currently Director of Technical Services and Outreach Librarian for Philosophy/Religion, Foreign Languages, and English.
